Scott Kunz – President, Training & Development
Since starting GSG Learning Institute in 2014, Scott Kunz has led the company’s Training and Development division with a commitment to excellence, accountability, and tactical precision. As a seasoned law enforcement trainer and firearms expert, Scott oversees both the initial and ongoing training of security professionals, ensuring every officer meets the highest operational, ethical, and client service standards.
Before joining GSG, Scott served with distinction at the Isleton Police Department, where he held multiple instructional and leadership positions from 2008 to 2012—including Lead Range Master, Lead Use of Force Instructor, and Lead Emergency Vehicle Operations Instructor. His expertise spans tactical disciplines, weaponless defense, special weapons operations, and K9 handling, earning him a reputation as both a skilled operator and a trusted educator.
Scott’s extensive portfolio of certifications reflects his technical mastery and instructional depth. He holds multiple law enforcement and civilian instructor credentials through the NRA, the California Department of Justice, and the International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors. As a Certified Armorer for leading firearm manufacturers—including Sig Sauer, Bushmaster, Glock, H&K, and Colt—Scott pairs precision technical knowledge with hands-on experience.
In addition to firearms and tactical instruction, Scott is certified in MOAB (Management of Aggressive Behavior), Combat Lifesaver, Building Entry and Search Techniques, and CPR/First Aid. He is also an active member of professional organizations such as the California Narcotics Officers Association and the International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors, maintaining his commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
At GSG, Scott’s leadership philosophy centers on preparedness, discipline, and mentorship—developing officers who not only meet the standard but elevate it.
